Naji Assi graduated in 1994 with a master’s degree in architecture from the School of Architecture at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), University of Balamand. In 1996, he received his CEAA in urban studies from the École d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville (EAPB).
He started working in Beirut in 1997 on several restoration projects and new developments. He worked with SA47 from 1997 till 2013 as an architect and managing partner. Simultaneously, he taught in several architecture schools including the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), Lebanese American University (LAU), the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Université Saint Esprit Kaslik (USEK). He was invited as advisor and jury member to other academic institutions including the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). To date, Assi’s portfolio consists of a variety of projects including educational, cultural, residential, commercial, industrial, religious and internal fit outs. He participated in several design competitions and was nominated on numerous occasions among which the first prize for the extension of the ALBA campus in 2003, the extension of the Collège Protestant Français in 2015 and the 3rd prize for the new municipal stadium of Hadat in 2017. In 2018, Naji Assi was in charge with Youssef El Khoury, of the scenography of the temporary exhibition "Roads Of Arabia: Archeological Treasures of Saudi Arabia" hosted by the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
